Each free skating test receives two marks – one mark for Technical Elements and one mark for a Performance that is “Well Balanced”. The program is skated to a musical selection chosen by the skater to meet a specified length of time as required for the test level.  The ability to perform the elements to the music is an important criteria that is evaluated.

The test program must demonstrate all required elements in order to be passed. Two required elements may be reskated.  A more difficult element can not be substituted for a required element.
